Let's have a separate category for this stuff from the books.
Franken Fran was already brought up, and I agree it's pretty fantastic.
Just had Fuan no Tane suggested to me:

Haven't had a chance to read it but it looks interesting.
Aside from that who on hear has looked into Junji Ito or Hideshi Hino? They're both a lot of fun!
